2012 “Solar Solutions”

Catastrophic events impact people and communities worldwide. These disasters disrupt all aspects of human life and cause life-threatening problems. Students were challenged to design a solar-powered solution to a human need in the aftermath of a natural disaster.

Two separate competitions were held in the Bay Area of California and Xi’an, China.

Bay Area 1st Place Project

School: Cupertino High School, Cupertino, CA
Topic: H2Oasis – reverse osmosis water supplier system
Students: Jun Chang, Melody Hsu and John Zhao

 

Xi’an 1st Place Project

School: The High School Affiliated to Xi’an Jiaotong University
Topic: Solar Energy System of Prefabricated House
Students: Yang Fan and Liu Yifeng
