Here is a brief summary of our field trip programs:
Dinosaurs! and Live Animals Exhibit – Visitors of all ages can learn about adaptation in our new, permanent exhibit with live animals, full-size museum quality dinosaur mounts, fossil casts, animatronic dinosaurs, hands-on activities, and a dino dig. You may download a pre-exhibit activity, exhibit activity, post-exhibit activity, and exhibit guide on the Field Trips page by scrolling down to the Museum Experience section and clicking on each link.
Paleontology (1 hr) – Get a more up close and interactive look at fossils, then complete a fossil craft and a dino dig.
Live Animal Show (1 hr) – Get a more up close look at five animals (reptiles, insects, mammals), join in an interactive discussion about their adaptations, and learn about the diversity of living things.
Aquatics (1 hr) – Scoop our pond for aquatic invertebrates and learn about pond ecosystems as we take a hike around our pond. Usually best in the spring, summer, and early fall.
Naturalist Hike (1 hr) – Hike around our pond, woods, and field, learn a little about these different ecosystems, and maybe see some animals along the way! Usually best in the spring, summer, and early fall.
